The Hongkong Prize

The Hongkong Prize is an international writing competition that attracts authors from across the globe, drawing authors with its lucrative monetary prizes, shopping vouchers and food & beverage perks as incentives to enter. Furthermore, its impartial judging process ensures all entries will be evaluated fairly. Before submitting any entry for consideration it is vitally important that participants read and comply with all rules and regulations carefully in order to avoid any issues later on.

This award recognizes those working tirelessly to advance world civilisation and foster harmonious societies – including good Samaritans, selfless caregivers and those fighting bravely for freedom and justice. While recognizing their efforts, the award also aims to inspire others to follow in their footsteps by rewarding winners with both monetary prizes as well as an opportunity to present their research to an international audience and gain international exposure.

This prize, established in 1986, recognizes students for outstanding scholarship and extra-curricular achievements in their studies and social development. Awarded both to secondary and postsecondary students enrolled in all disciplines except History. Along with cash prize, winners receive book coupons and certificates.

In past years, this award has been bestowed upon notable individuals such as Sir Timothy Chen, Dr. Tony Mok, and Mr. Lee Cheuk-yan – among many others. Its purpose is to offer public recognition and encouragement for young people pursuing their passions while building Hong Kong into an international hub of science and technology.

However, one should never assume he or she will succeed alone in managing to achieve such results. The BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE is an independent merit-based award designed to recognize scientific researchers in Hong Kong whose discoveries have had a substantial societal impact, inspiring local communities to pursue their passions and explore new fields of knowledge, while nurturing forward-looking scientists that will make Hong Kong into an internationally acclaimed research hub. The highest decision-making body of the BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Innovator Prize is its Board, which is responsible for suggesting key scientific research areas to include in THE PRIZE; setting requirements for nominations and evaluation; appointing members of its Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team; verifying and approving final review results before awarding THE PRIZE; as well as administering THE PRIZE itself.

The BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE will recognize innovation across four fields of science: Artificial Intelligence & Robotics; Life & Health Sciences; Physical Sciences and Materials; Advanced Manufacturing and FinTech. Each year up to five individuals (or teams) may be awarded with this prize in each award field.
