Hong Kong may conjure up images of shopping and dim sum, but swimming pools might not. Yet this city is packed with picturesque pools ranging from world’s highest pools to natural infinity ponds on mountainsides – here are five of our favourites!
At 118 floors and 484 meters above sea level, the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong boasts the world’s highest pool. Boasting spectacular city views (although perhaps slightly terrifying!), you can even swim in its glass-bottom section! For after your swim experience is complete, enjoy some food or drinks at its rooftop bar and restaurant or just take in all of Hong Kong.
InterContinental Grand Stanford boasts one of the city’s most stunning pools – an outdoor oasis that looks out on Victoria Harbour and will transport you right into its serene waters. After your swim, stop by their tea deck for drinks and snacks while watching the sun set over Hong Kong.
Kerry Hotel Hong Kong provides an unforgettable Instagram-worthy experience with its pool featuring views of Victoria Harbour from Hung Hom. There are few barriers, making the view truly unobstructed. Additionally, this modern pool is located close to Red Sugar terrace bar so guests can unwind after an active day with a drink in hand.
Wai Man Road and Tsing Yi swimming pool complexes are two of the city’s most beloved public pools, each offering main, teaching, leisure pools for all ages, as well as water slides to keep children and adolescents active – perfect choices for families!
Just be sure to arrive early, though — these pools tend to get very busy quickly! They’re open from 7:00am to 10:00pm daily with entrance fees at HK$17 during weekdays and HK$19 on weekends; discounted rates apply for children, people with disabilities and full-time students.
Hong Kong boasts many private swimming pools in addition to its public ones, mostly found within hotels or residential buildings, but also at fitness centers or sports facilities. Some heated and whirlpool equipped pools even make year-round swimming possible! Klook’s extensive list of Hong Kong pools will help you plan a vacation full of swimming adventures – you won’t regret it!
